Mr. Landsberg represents business owners in litigation either defending or prosecuting various claims, including partnership disputes, fraud and complex contract disputes. He has litigated cases for shopping center owners, including unlawful detainers, lease disputes, and prescriptive easement rights; and for homeowners for breach of purchase and sale agreements, and defending or pursuing construction defect claims. He represents developers of retail shopping centers, office buildings, industrial complexes, and high-end luxury homes. He also provides general counsel representation to businesses that do not have this position in-house.
His clients in bankruptcy court have included trustees, Chapter 11 debtors in possession, secured and unsecured creditors, official unsecured creditors’ committees and landlords. The Chapter 11 debtors represent many types of debtors, including high net-worth individuals, AVP Beach Volleyball, a ball bearing company, multi-chain clothing stores located throughout the country, wholesaler of champagne and wine, a multi-location bagel company, and a franchisee for fast-food and casual restaurants. Mr. Landsberg has also represented financial institutions as a secured or unsecured creditor in bankruptcy proceedings and in state court, pursuing foreclosure remedies under deeds of trust. Mr. Landsberg has lectured on litigation, post-judgment remedies, and bankruptcy issues to several major financial institutions. He has three published appellate decisions.
Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in New Jersey just outside of Manhattan, Mr. Landsberg graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a B.S. in Finance. He moved to Malibu to attend and obtain a law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law more than 25 years ago and remained in the Los Angeles area. He currently resides in the San Fernando Valley with his wife and three children. Mr. Landsberg is admitted in the Central, Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of California.
